1993 - Colliers Jardine establishes Darwin office
The success of Colliers Jardine in other capital and
regional centres led to the expansion into the Northern
Territory in 1993. Colliers established a full service
real estate company which quickly became one of the
leaders in the state
1996 - Colliers Jardine franchises its residential
division
Chris Hyland and his team became the first residential
franchise in Australia. Under Chris’s stewardship
the Residential Division rapidly increased its market
share and penetration, whilst working symbiotically
with the Commercial and Valuation Divisions
2000 - The franchise extends to the whole
of Colliers in the Northern Territory
The remainder of the Divisions came under the umbrella
of the franchisee in October of 2000. Under totally
local management the franchise continued to blossom
and expand
2001 - Branch office opened on Groote Elyandt
The office successfully tendered for a two year contract
to manage some 400 residential and 25 commercial properties
for GEMCO on Groote Eylandt. This included assisting
GEMCO and its employees through the transition to
a standard tenant/landlord relationship
2002 - Colliers moves into new office
Our expanded workforce necessitated a move to larger
premises, and we took the opportunity to significantly
upgrade our fitout and facilities. We now have first
class premises where we can meet our clients in comfort
and style. We also have facilities for state of the
art audio video presentations and our employees enjoy
the very best in technology and support
2002 - Colliers changes its name
Colliers Macaulay Nicolls Inc ("CMN") acquires
an additional 50% interest in Colliers Jardine Holding
Ltd., resulting in their full ownership. The new company
reverted to the old name of Colliers International
